1. Prerequisites

  • WordPress 6.0 or higher
  • PHP 8.0 or higher
  • WooCommerce 7.0 or higher (active and configured)

2.1 Access the plugin addition feature.

In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New .

2.2 Upload the ZIP file

Click on « Upload an extension » at the top of the page, then select the file glance-live-search-pro.zipyou downloaded.

2.3 Install and activate

Click on « Install now » then on « Activate extension » . The plugin will automatically create its database tables and default settings.

⚠️ Free version already installed?

If the free version of Glance Live Search is already active, the Pro plugin will automatically deactivate it upon activation. Your settings will be preserved. You don’t need to do anything manually.

3. Manual installation (FTP/SFTP)

If automatic installation does not work (hosting limitations, file size), you can install the plugin manually via FTP.

  1. Unzip the file glance-live-search-pro.zipon your computer.
  2. Connect to your server via FTP/SFTP (FileZilla, Cyberduck, etc.).
  3. Navigate to the folder:
/wp-content/plugins/
  1. Upload the glance-live-searchentire folder to this directory.
  2. 5Activate the plugin in WordPress → Plugins .

4. Activating the Pro license

  • Access the plugin settings : Go to WooCommerce → Glance Search in the side menu of your dashboard.
  • Click on the « License » tab : A « License » tab appears at the top of the settings page. Click on it.
  • Enter your license key : Enter the license key you received by email when you made your purchase, then click « Activate » .

💡 License successfully activated!

Once the license is activated, all Pro options (color customization, category filtering, recommendations, advanced analytics, etc.) will be immediately available in the settings.

5. Updates

Glance Live Search Pro updates are managed via the Freemius system and appear directly on the WordPress Extensions page, just like any other plugin.

  • Automatic: If your license is active, updates will appear in the WordPress dashboard. Simply click « Update ».
  • Manual: Download the latest version from your account, deactivate the old version, delete it, then install the new one.

6. Desinstallation

  1. Go to Extensions and disable Glance Live Search Pro.
  2. Click « Delete » to completely remove the plugin.
  3. The plugin will automatically delete its settings and analytics tables.

🚨 Warning: Data deleted

Removing the plugin will erase all analytics data (searches, clicks) stored in the database. Remember to export your CSV data before uninstalling if you wish to keep it.

7. Troubleshooting the installation

« The ZIP file is too large »

Your hosting provider is likely limiting the size of uploadable files. Solutions:

  • Increase upload_max_filesizein yourphp.ini
  • Use manual installation via FTP (see section above)
  • Contact your hosting provider to increase this limit.

« WooCommerce is not installed »

Glance Live Search requires WooCommerce 8.0+. Install and activate WooCommerce before activating Glance. The plugin will display an admin notice if WooCommerce is not installed. »Fatal error during activation »

Check the following points:

  • Your PHP version is 8.0 or higher.
  • No conflicts with any other active search plugin
  • Check your server’s PHP error logs for more details.
  • Activate WP_DEBUGto wp-config.phpidentify the error

« The license is not activated »

  • Check that you do not have any spaces before/after the license key
  • Verify that your server can communicate with the Freemius servers (no blocking firewalls)
  • Make sure the license is not already in use on another site (depending on your plan).
